Igor Savchenko

Igor Savchenko, nacido en Minsk (Belarus) la Unión Soviética en 1962. Estudió cibernética y sistemas de control automático en la Universidad Estatal de Belarus. En 1985 se graduó con el título universitario de Ingeniero Electrónico, y desde 1985 trabajó como ingeniero en Minsk hasta 1991. Comenzó a experimentar en el campo de la fotografía en 1989, cuando se comprometió con el Valery Lobko’s Creative Photography Studio. En 1990 Savchenko recibió un premio por Kodak-Pathe Fondation en el Salón Internacional de la ‘Recherche Photographique’ de Royan, Francia. Celebrando su primera exposición individual en la Galleri Index/ Fotograficentrum de Estocolmo.

Entre 1994-1995 empezó con la escritura como autor de textos en prosa y, a veces, poesía. Declarando, en 1997 su abandono de la creación fotográfica y empezando a trabajar en diversos medios de comunicación textual y proyectos mixtos. Combinándolo actualmente, y dando clase de manera profesional, de buceo a gran profundidad.

Su obra, la que podemos ver en su portoflio y en esta galería, me ha parecido maravillosa. Me encanta como retrata el mundo, y sus textos.

WIND
…When the norther came into the valley from the blue hills, she knew that it was he, who thought of her. She had never been over those hills, and it was only the wind, which brought her from unknown distances different smells and sounds: either the juniper’s harsh aroma and grasshoppers’ crepitation at midday, or the cuckoo’s sklent voice in the sonorous forest, a chiffon rustle of quivering dragonflies on a shiny clearing, or a kittling smell of dust from roads she had neither walked, nor ridden… And one day, a pissabed’s white fuzz came down to her shoulder, though in their valley, all dandelions were still yellowing on the kelly green meadows.
…There would be no meetings any more, – she knew it for certain, but she also knew for sure that he would never forget her, and that the wind would keep coming from the blue northern hills again and again for all her long life.
